Helena Kjersti Sloth

Helena Kjersti Sloth holds a master's degree in business law and works as a commercial lawyer with a sharp focus on regulatory matters, especially within cryptocurrency.

As part of Samar Law, Helena has assisted with legal advice in several investment rounds and tax law cases related to cryptocurrency. In addition, she has worked with cases within company law, employment law, contract drafting and general commercial law. Helena started as a Legal Student Assistant at Samar Law in early 2023 and completed her education at Copenhagen Business School in summer 2023. Her thesis dealt with the EU anti-money laundering package, in particular the recast of the Money Laundering Regulation. It examined whether the rules in the recast, which proposes to extend the scope of application to include transfers of crypto-assets, violate the principle of proportionality.

Helena also has experience as a legal advisor and team leader at Iværksætteretshjælpen, where she advised on various business law issues faced by entrepreneurs. The issues included challenges within company law, law of obligations, marketing law and intellectual property law. In addition, Helena has previously worked with compensation and insurance law.
