Payam Samarghandi is one of the country's leading advisors on regulatory matters related to cryptocurrency, where he has gained deep industry knowledge since 2016. In addition, Payam has worked extensively with corporate law and commercial transactions, particularly in venture capital. Since 2020, he has been among the Danish lawyers involved in the most venture capital transactions.

Over the years, Payam has gained deep regulatory knowledge related to cryptocurrency, representing market leaders such as international centralized trading platforms, cryptocurrency providers (VASP and CASP), decentralized autonomous organizations (DAO) and other companies at the interface between regulatory matters and cryptocurrency. In addition, Payam has extensive experience advising regulated businesses, particularly electronic money issuers (EMIs) and payment institutions (PIs). Payam has established a broad national and international network, extensive professional experience and deep industry knowledge, which forms the basis of his legal advice.

Payam has a special interest in decentralized finance. Among other things, he is the only lawyer in the world to have advised a Dao (MakerDAO) in an international court case, and as vice chairman of the Dai Foundation, he has advised on decentralization strategies.

Payam has extensive experience with application processes at the Danish FSA, where he is also a member of the FSA's Fintech Forum and working group focusing on blockchain, cryptocurrency and financial regulation regarding the implementation of MiCA. He has extensive experience with tax law issues related to cryptocurrency and has since 2016 represented more than 200 clients in cases against the Danish Tax Agency and has conducted most cases in the area before the Danish Tax Council and the National Tax Tribunal.

In addition, Payam has extensive experience advising technology-heavy companies on general business law issues such as venture capital, incentive programs such as warrants and corporate law issues.
